Emergency Orthodontic Care
As a general rule, we recommend that you call Dhingra Orthodontics if you experience severe pain or have a painful appliance problem you can’t take care of yourself. It is always better to call and ask if you have a question or problem than to wait until it gets worse.
Getting in to see Dr. Dhingra for an orthodontic emergency appointment is easy with our flexible schedule and three convenient locations in Bellefontaine, Springfield, and Beavercreek. You can count on someone at every office to field phone calls and get you where you need to go to be seen to relieve your discomfort.
To avoid emergency issues from the start, we use the most up-to-date brackets and wires for the most sleek and comfortable feel. We also use the best adhesives and bonding materials to ensure less bond failure to cut down on our emergency appointments.
TYPES OF ORTHODONTIC EMERGENCIES
Headgear: Stop wearing the headgear, place wax on any pokey wires. Call and let the office know so we can get you in and get your headgear checked out.
Loose appliance: Place wax on the affected area and call so we can get you in at our next available appointment
Loose bracket: Place wax on the moving bracket to keep it from bothering your lip or cheek. Call our office and let us know so we can get you in and get you scheduled to get it put back on.
Loose or poking wire: Place wax on the loose or poking wire. Call and let us know so we can get you in at the next available appointment.
General soreness: Place wax on any affected areas and take whatever OTC medicine you take for a headache (Motrin, Tylenol, Advil, etc.).
Facial trauma: Go to the emergency room and follow up with your dentist.
