Brightening Lives With New Smiles

Caring for Your Orthodontic Treatment During COVID-19 Quarantine

With the recent quarantine measures taken across the state of Ohio, orthodontics offices such as our own have had to shut their doors to the public. While Dhingra Orthodontics is still here for you via phone, email, or the chat system on our website, we have had to cancel in-person appointments for now.

We are actively working on new ways to provide high-quality services to current and potential clients during these uncertain times. In the meantime, if you currently have braces or Invisalign, it’s as important as ever that you are properly taking care of them.

Normal Rules Still Apply

For most people, day-to-day life looks quite a bit different during quarantine. We’re all having to adjust our habits in some way or another. But for those who are in the middle of orthodontic treatment, it’s critical that you keep with the recommendations of your orthodontist.

If you have braces, it means avoiding the same foods and making sure you’re brushing properly. If you have Invisalign, it means making sure that you’re wearing them 20-22 hours a day and removing them any time you consume anything that isn’t water.

Continue your normal care habits, and your treatment will stay on course during quarantine.

Increased Hygiene

When interacting with your braces or handling your aligner trays, make sure you are following proper hygiene recommendations. This means washing your hands before you touch your mouth or orthodontic equipment.

As simple as it sounds, proper hand-washing has been said to be one of the most effective ways of reducing the spread and contraction of the COVID-19 virus.

Wet your hands, lather than with soap, and scrub them for at least 20 seconds. Make sure to get the back of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. When you’re done, rinse thoroughly.

Stay in Contact with Your Orthodontist

While we can’t have you come into the office at this point, we are still very much here for you. If you are experiencing any issues, or you just have a question, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Even if you don’t have braces or Invisalign yet, you can still reach out to us for any questions or concerns.

Once we are able to see patients again, we’ll make sure to let you know right away. For an orthodontist in Beavercreek, Bellefontaine, or Springfield, Ohio, you can trust in Dhingra Orthodontics.
