If you have considered orthodontic treatment or have already started the process of beginning treatment, you have probably discovered that there are multiple different braces options out there. As an orthodontic office in Beavercreek, Ohio we are proud to be able to offer our patients with multiple treatment options when it comes to teeth straightening.
These options allow us to best serve our patients and ultimately lead to better results as patients get to choose treatment that fits their lifestyle, personal styles, wants, and desires. We want all our patients to not only feel good with the results they receive from orthodontic treatment but to also feel good every step of the way throughout treatment.
At Dhingra orthodontist we offer three types or braces or teeth straightening options. These options include metal braces, clear braces, and Invisalign. Here, we are going to look at the differences and similarities between metal and clear braces. If you want more information on Invisalign, check out this blog post or reach out to us directly.
Metal Braces
When you think of braces, it is likely that you picture traditional metal braces. This form of braces has stood the test of time because it works!
Metal braces align teeth by putting pressure on them through metal brackets and wires. Ligatures are used to attach the wire to the bracket. These ligatures are what come in multiple colors that kids and teens enjoy picking out with each visit. The pop of color is a fun additive to the otherwise metal appliances.
Clear Braces
Clear braces are just as effective and work in the same way metal braces do. The brackets that are fastened to the teeth and the wire used to connect them in order to align the teeth are clear. Instead of colored ligatures, we use pearl ligatures to attach the writing and brackets. This gives clear braces a sleek and almost invisible look.
What is Best For You?
The good news is, you really can’t go wrong with either of these choices. Both metal braces and clear braces are incredibly effective at aligning teeth and giving our patients the smiles they always dreamed of. Most patients are able to pick which type of braces they would prefer. This really comes down to your personal preference and opinion.
When making your choice you could consider your personal style, how noticeable you want your braces to be or if you want the option of switching out ligature colors.
The choice is yours and we can’t wait to get you started on your way to a straighter smile through orthodontic treatment!
